It’s a fascinating look at how the outdoor recreation industry is a major player in our economy and examines current trends. Here’s some numbers for just trail-related sports (Day Hiking, Backpacking, Rock or Ice Climbing, Running 3+miles, Horseback Riding, Mountaineering):

Not only does all this outdoor activity contribute to America’s economic growth ( I had no idea) just think of what it does for the physical well being of those who engage in these activities.
